Yvonne Melchers is a representational painter based in Diemen (Amsterdam), The Netherlands. She works in series of which the most important are the Dutch North Sea coast, Portraits of modern Italian men and boys in historical costumes (Siena Palio Portraits), Italian Scenes and Rooms with a View, which are mostly situated in Italy. Portraits or other subjects by commission. Known for her clearly visible brush strokes of juicy paint in crispy colors with the very limited palette of Monet. Some exhibitions in Italy but mostly in The Netherlands in galleries and at art fairs and in the Museum Møhlmann every year. Selected at Summer Expo 2012 The Hague Gemeente (Municipal) Museum. Preselected at BP Portrait Award 2015 and 2018, Dutch Portrait Award 2017 and Figurativas Barcelona 2017. Published in magazines and numerous books on realistic/figurative work and in five theme issues of PoetsArtists Magazine in 2017 and 2018. Invited with 120 realist artists from around the world to participate in the exhibition “20 Años en 20 x 20” of Galería ArteLibre which will be held in Zaragoza, Museum MEAM Barcelona and two other venues in Spain in 2019. Work in numerous private collections around the world, in the art collection of the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam and in Museum Møhlmann Appingedam/The Netherlands.
