Poem | Maman | Holly Bass

Talking about Holly Bass is definitely fan-girling for me. She reads to the moon and walks with stardust.  She invented invention in dance, poetry and song. She's true hearted, dream journeyed and adds spice to the sorry soup of the world making everything delicious again. -Grace Cavalieri

Maman

   for Louise B.

all those spiders

longlegged mothers

stilted figures

knitting   quietly

while the maid

seduces the father

orvice versa

all those dark widows

massive  multi-armed

looming in night dreams

in     memories

warning you of

the  dangers

of giving birth
