Submission Call

  • Paintings created using a palette of vivid, bright, intense colors. Wow me with color!
  • The paintings may be any subject matter, including the figure, portraiture, still life, floral, animal/wildlife, landscape/cityscape/any-type-of-scape, etc. 
  • Realism only, in the widest sense of the word, i.e., as long as I can see what it is, I consider it a form of Realism.
  • Paintings may be of an academic approach, or a more unconventional variety, they may be executed loosely, tightly, and anything in between—as long as the artwork contains lively, exciting color schemes.
  • Any media: Oils, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, inks, tempera, color pencil, pastel, etc.
  • No photography, video, or digital art.
  • All work must be the artist’s original conception, executed entirely by the artist.
  • No restrictions on size or number of submissions. Need not be new work. Need not be available for sale. 

How to Submit

  • Create a shareable link to your folder on
  • Images should be: 300 dpi / 1500 pixels minimum width. 
  • Add a text file including your contact information, short narrative bio (maximum of 100 words) and specs (title, medium, size) for each work.
  • Important: Write a few lines about the submitted work regarding its meaning, symbolic content, subject matter, process, and/or creative intention.

Please note:

  • We do not send out notices, but Lorena will post a list of the names of selected artists sometime in May 2018.
  • PoetsArtists does not offer complimentary copies other than to those subscribed to receive complimentary PDFs via our platform. This issue does not qualify as a special limited edition.
