Was 2022 a good year for you?

Overall, it was a great year. There were many challenges both personally and artistically. Ultimately, these challenges strengthened me, informed my art, and solidified my commitment.

What were some of the highlights in your art career?

I had several of my paintings included in The Peregrine Collection and Lunar Codex part of the first woman artists headed to the moon, three online publications, The Final Frontier, Mujer, and Desperately Seeking Madonna. I exhibited in Painting the Figure Now at The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.

I was awarded Best in Show at The Art League of New Britain, CT.

I illustrated a children’s book with eight illustrations, and the cover of a historical novel.

What were some of the pitfalls? Many rejections and a small painters block. All part of the process.

Did your art sell?

I sold a total of nine illustrations and a few portrait commissions.

Were you included in any shows?

Painting the Figure Now, WMOCA curated by Dr Samuel Perlota

Final Frontier curated by Jan Anders Nelson

Mujer curated by Didi Menendez

Best of America small works exhibition NOAPS

Reinterpreting Masterwork curated by Judith Peck

Desperately Seeking Madonna PoetsArtists

What are you looking forward to in 2023?

So many goals. I envision being in a major art magazine such as American Art Collector and Fine Art Connoisseur.

I will continue exhibiting in major museums, galleries, and publications.

I would love to be accepted as a finalist in the ARC Salon

I anticipate having more sales and interest in my art as I continue to push myself artistically.

So many paintings inside of me waiting to be expressed.

I cannot wait to see what happens!
